Oct. 15: Music of Our Lives: An Extraordinary Afternoon of Kansas City Song and Dance

Music of Our Lives will feature professional performers from in and around Kansas City, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Foundation on Aging

KANSAS CITY, MO (August 2006) -- Kansas City's Foundation on Aging will host Music of Our Lives, a song and dance revue on Sunday, October 15 from 3:00-5:00 pm. The event will feature musical performances by some of the most beloved professional performers from the Kansas City area. Under the fine direction of Billie Mahoney, Kansas City's own star of stage and screen, this family entertainment event promises to entertain all ages by taking the audience on a delightful journey through the city's rich musical history--jazz, blues and even cowboy songs--as they spend an afternoon Going to Kansas City. Performances will take place at Yardley Hall in the Johnson County Community College campus, 12345 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS. Tickets are $25, with a 10% discount on groups of 15 or more, and can be purchased through the College Box Office (913) 469-4445.

Music of Our Lives 2006 pays special tribute to Dr. Jack Walker, founder of the Family Practice Center at KU Medical Center, Kansas Lieutenant Governor, State Senator and visionary first president of the Foundation on Aging.

Ben Craig of Metcalf Bank will serve as Honorary Chairman for the event. The Greater Kansas City Council on Philanthropy named Metcalf Bank “2006 Business Philanthropist of the Year."
