Not Your Classic - Out April 6, Is The Latest Album From Carlos Redman

Rising trumpeter star Carlos Redman is going back to his signature edgy improv style. The musician will release “Not Your Classic," a new album of refreshed standards and originals, April 6 on Redman's Brown Eyes Records.

The collection was produced by multiple Grammy Award winner Alessandro Perrotta and marks the debut release for his quintet Chemistry.

“N.Y.C." is comprised of 8 songs, including “Love Letter," “Cold Duck Time" and “September Song," which Redman recorded at Breeding Ground Studios of New York.

“One of the most noted emerging musicians on the jazz scene..." according to New York Amsterdam News, in addition to the album release, Redman begins his tour schedule this summer in June called the “Chemistry Live Tour," from his hometown in Detroit.

“I'm not your classic..." said Redman in a statement. “This is an album in the now, and I am looking forward to sharing my unique Black American music experience with a contemporary perspective."
