Myspace Adds More 30 Second Commercials

As part of an effort to boost revenue MySpace has been testing 30 second audio ads since December. Last week they began appearing as users listened to songs on artist profiles, album pages, playlists and pop-out players. Most of the audio ads are scheduled so that users can hear 100 songs on a playlist or a full album with just one commercial after the first song.

The ads are being sold by TargetSpot and initial advertisers include TurboTax and Office Depot. The ads are sold by online audio ad company TargetSpot Inc. “We're testing some new ad products and the response from our users has been positive," MySpace Music said in a statement. “As always, we are interested in hearing feedback from our users and advertising community as we run these tests."
