Mt. San Antonio College Jazz Festival

There are many talented students in the jazz world, that excell in their instrument and feel very passionate about the music that they create. The Mt. San Antonio College Jazz Festival will combine local high school and junior high jazz ensembles in friendly competition. Mt. San Antonio College will be hosting their annual Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 8:00 am - 7:45 pm in both Mt. SAC's Recital Hall and Performing Arts Center. Ajudicators will include: Dave Beatty, Chuck Tumlinson, Andrew Fockel, Gary Prat, and Charles Richard. This event will offer its guests a snipit of the many uniques styles of the Jazz greats such as Count Basie, Gordon Goodwin, Miles Davis, etc. In addition to the junior high and high school jazz bands, the Mt. SAC Jazz Ensemble will be presenting a noon concert featuring jazz band Director, Jeff Ellwood on tenor saxophone. At the conclusion of the festival, Jeff will perform along with several of his collegues in a 'Faculty Combo Concert' which will be immediately followed by the evening's awards ceremony.
