Midem Moves Cannes Conference to June, Announces New Initiatives

International music industry mega-conference Midem is moving from its usual January/February time frame to June 5-8 in 2015.  The gathering is staying in Cannes, but adding an enlarged program to support labels and artists looking for international deals along with new exhibition space and content devoted to tech and innovation. 

The new program adds more live showcases in front of Midem delegates and the public, artist access to the Midem conference sessions, industry mentors and VIP networking opportunities.

Attendance at was down 4% in 2014 compared to the previous year. 6,150 gathered in Cannes vs. 6,400 in 2013, according to stats provided by convention organizers. Attendance from some European countries fell, but Japan and Turkey saw a 40% attendance increase.  Australia and Brazil were up 50% and 30% respectively.
