Music Center the Netherlands announces the 2nd edition of the Dutch Jazz & World Meeting (DJWM), the showcase event for internationally promising acts from the Netherlands in the field of jazz and world music, aiming actively at the foreign market.
The conference takes place on October 5 and 6, 2012 in the Bimhuis, The Amsterdam Conservatory and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, in Amsterdam in the presence of an international public of some hundred presenters of respected jazz and world music festivals and podia, journalists and other music professionals.
Showcase
The selection of the showcases lies in the hands of two curators: Michelle Kuypers (Mojo, North Sea Jazz) and Wim Westerveld (Chazz, Music Meeting). On the basis of their vision and expertise, they will select the most promising groups. Additionally they will arrange the complete showcase program, so that professionals and public will be treated to an interesting event.
The showcase acts have the chance to present themselves in short concerts of 30 minutes.
