Talented Toronto Musician Debuts New Music at Trane Studio on November 24th, 2010

Toronto, November 3rd, 2010—Martin Traynor is pleased to debut his self-titled CD at Trane Studio in Toronto on November 24th, 2010. The performance begins at 8 pm.

His music blends sultry jazz vocals with world and pop music influences into a sophisticated and sensual mix. The CD is the culmination of several years of songwriting, entertaining and teaching.

“This for me has been a real labor of love," says Martin. “Some of the songs are quite old, written when I was in my twenties, but the bulk of the songs were recent projects."

Martin has a colourful musical background dating back to his childhood in Scotland and culminating in a full musical life here in Canada. As a live musician, he has performed at jazz festivals, local gigs and large-scale events at Dundas Square. He has also performed with Toronto ensembles including the jazz/pop group Neo-Mundo and SoundPoets. Along with his work on personal musical projects, Martin oversees a busy music department at an arts- based high school in Toronto.

The performance to launch the new CD promises to be exciting, with Martin backed up by some of the city's top musicians including Darren Moore on Saxophone and Keyboard, Bohdan Turok on Drums, Giancarlo Brotto on percussion and Fergus Marsh on bass.
