"Jazz Royale Festival" The Greatest Jazz Music Festival in Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is to hold a grand jazz music event, “Jazz Royale Festival" during 9-17 December, 2006, in order to honour His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, as the world's royal musician, on the occasion of his 80th birthday celebration in 2007, where part of the proceeds will go to the H.M. the King for use at his projects under his royal patronage.

The jazz event will have more than 100 world-class artists taking part and will be accounted as the greatest jazz festival in the country's history, when all artists will be playing H.M. the King's musical works; namely Kenny G, McCoy Tyner Trio, Chris Botti, Nancy Wilson, Regina Carter Quintet, also with the Dizzy Gillespie(tm) All- Star Big Band, James Moody, Paquito D'Rivera, Marta Topferova, Ahmad Jamal, Claudio Roditi, Roberta Gambarini, Georgie Fame, and Oriental Jazz Quartet Feat. Cherryl Hayes.

“Jazz Royale Festival" will take place in four major cities of Thailand. The first stage will start in Bangkok at Sanam Suapa during 9-10 December. The second stage will follow at the Horseshoe Point in Pattaya during 11-12 December. The third stage will be held at Sanam Hor Silp in Chiang Mai University during 14-15 December and the curtain will be closed at Karon Beach in Phuket during 16-17 December.

Tickets are available at Thai Ticket Master (Tel. +66 2262-3456 www.thaiticketmaster.com) and TAT Offices in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Pattaya. The cost is 2,000 Baht($US 54)for Bangkok and 1,500 Baht ($US 41) for provincial venues.
