Next month sees the start of the annual Venezia Jazz Festival, which runs until August 2nd. Beginning on July 27th, the event is a major must for jazz fans staying at Venice hotels over the summer.

The festival is held at a number of venues including the Teatro La Fenice and Piazza San Marco and, as always, features a mix of established and new artists from the world of jazz music.

As well as music concerts, there will be a special calendar of other events including readings, art exhibitions and even DJ sets.

This year's bill includes Wynton Marsalis with the Lincoln Center Orchestra, Esperanza Spalding and Paolo Conte.

The highlight of the festival is expected to be the performances of the Charles Lloyd Quartet and Richard Galliano in a special double concert on the night of July 29th.

Tickets are already on sale for the week-long festival and anyone planning to attend is advised to start booking their Venice accommodation as soon as possible.
