Blue Note Records celebrates Count Basie's 100th birthday with the August 24 release of two 2-cd sets honoring one of the greatest bandleaders in the history of Jazz.

The Count Basie Story In 1960, the Basie band celebrated its silver anniversary by making a double-album of it's classics from the 30s and 40s in the glorious state- of-the-art fidelity with which producer Teddy Reig was then recording the band for Roulette Records at Capitol's New York studio.
