CT: On Monday, July 9 Litchfield Jazz Camp learned of the impending bankruptcy of the National Guitar Workshop, a three-decades-old program that at the height of its activities served up to 6000 students annually, according to David Smolover, its owner and founder. Steve Bailey Named Chair of Berklee's Bass Department

Berklee College of Music announces that Steve Bailey has been named chair of the college's Bass Department. Bailey, six-string fretless bass pioneer, educator, and author, begins his tenure this summer. He succeeds Rich Appleman, who retired in May 2012 after holding the position for 40 years.
