Jim Robbins
Jim Robbins, professional solo pianist and recording artist, has released his newest CD—Only Two Things. In the tradition of Liz Story, George Winston, Lyle Mays and Keith Jarrett, listeners have described his music as “beautiful," “remarkable," and “compelling." One Amazon reviewer remarked, “It is, quite simply, one of the most unique and beautiful listening experiences I have had in years."

Why the album title, “Only Two Things”?

The tracks on Robbins’ new solo piano release, Only Two Things, elicit the human condition voiced in Simon Weil's prophetic words, “There are only two things that pierce the human heart: beauty and affliction." Robbins’ style and approach

Describing style, a listener from Finland remarked, “Can't remember the last time I have heard so delicate a touch... on any instrument.” Jim Robbins approaches the piano with a dynamic touch—capturing the full expressive power of the grand piano, yet also creating the most subtle intimacies through a remarkably sensitive touch. A listener from Japan further indicates that Robbins is “not afraid to give the music enough space to breathe." It is the space between the notes that allows the instrument to resonate and shimmer. Superior Audio Quality

Only Two Things was mastered in Boston by GRAMMY-winning Mastering Engineer, Mark Donahue, at Sound Mirror.

Robbins, a native of Needham, Mass., lives in Peterborough, New Hampshire with his family. Listeners can hear his solo piano music at most music download sites on his website.
