Great Women In Music Celebrate Gloria Lynne Live and In Concert

On October 22, 2010 at 7PM Great Women In Music in partnership with the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture under the leadership of its Director Howard Dodson, will honor Gloria Lynne for her 50 Years of Musical Excellence. Known for her rich tone and regal manner, Gloria Lynne is the first artist ever to be simultaneously listed on the Pop, Jazz and R&B charts. Ms. Lynne is a perennial performer, composer, and author that has been recognized as a national treasure by Congressional Record Statement and the Smithsonian in Washington DC. By way of her amazing song book she has etched a place for herself in the annals of American Music with a list of songs that include “I Wish You Love," “I'm Glad There Is You," “He Needs Me" and “I Thought About You")

Great Women In Music Festival, now in its 10th season is proud to present Gloria Lynne performing in her home town of Harlem, New York at one of the world's most prestigious institutions. It will be a star studded event and a night of tremendous magic as they celebrate this musical legend. The reception begins at 7PM with Gloria Lynne in concert to follow.
