Birdland is repeating a celebration of George Avakian's birthday next week. It's his 88th birthday - actually one day in advance - on Wednesday, March 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. (No presents; presence only.)
As before, George agreed only because the $10 cover goes to the musicians:
