Episode 32—"Thanksgiving Moods & Reflections"
Hosted & Produced by J. Scott Fugate, “The Jazz Evangelist"

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know this is an American Holiday—but whether you celebrate it or not . . . it's a wonderful time for reflection & gratitude anywhere you happen to be around the world—and the music in this show should help in the process.

Here it is—free, legal, and in CD quality at 320 kbps:

Rather than focus on the history, meaning or menu associated with Thanksgiving— I've chosen to focus on its mood & memories—the smells & sounds in the crisp autumnal air, the atmosphere of falling leaves, the anticipation & emotion of traveling to see friends & family, the warmth of spending time with loved ones, the elements of joy & sorrow, excitement & expectations, remembrance & longing, rejoicing & reflection, grace & gratitude that accompany this day and carry on through the next month.

This 12 track selection will hopefully evoke positive moods which will help you to breath, reflect, relax & rejoice and prepare yourself for the coming Holiday season . . . providing you with something to listen to when you're alone, or to share with others during your Thanksgiving festivities, feast, and fellowship.

So, to that end I serve you a blend of atmospheric mood music which fuses jazz with classical, folk, bluegrass, Celtic, ragtime & Americana with acoustic, orchestral and electronic ambience . . . featuring holiday classics like “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" by Vince Guaraldi, ambient masterpieces from Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays & Claus Ogerman, as well as the so-called “new age" or experimental folk jazz stylings of George Winston, Will Ackerman, Philip Aaberg, Ralph Towner, and Mark O'Connor . . . not to mention something brand new from Kevin Eubanks, and some funky lagniappe from Dave Grusin featuring Phoebe Snow, David Sanborn & Marcus Miller.

To help you celebrate this Thanksgiving . . . stop as you listen to this show, and take time to reflect on the good things in your life; seek awareness of all that you have to be thankful for, and awaken your sense of gratitude & appreciation for everything you've experienced and all that good things that surrounds you. Don't focus on the bad things, and don't take anything for granted. You don't need a turkey to celebrate this Holiday—but it helps.

I'd also love to hear from you with any comments or suggestions, or just to chat— send an email to [email protected]. Happy Thanksgiving!
