Audiences around the world know CAROL WOODS for her stage, film, television, concert and nightclub appearances.
Her impressive list of Broadway credits include Chicago, One Mo Time, the 2001 revival of Stephen Sondheim's Follies, Smokey Joe's Caf, the Tommy Tune directed Stepping Out, Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl. Grind, Big River and The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. As a founding member of Tony Randall's National Actor's Theatre, Carol appeared in their first two productions: The Crucible and A Little Hotel On The Side. Off Broadway, she starred in One Mo' Time, Taking My Turn, and First Lady Suite at the Public Theatre.
Carol has toured the United States with the 1st National Companies of The Full Monty and Chicago. Other credits include The Williamstown Theatre Festival 2000 revival of Hot L Baltimore, directed by Joe Mantello and her 2000 solo Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall: An Evening With Carol Woods.
Carol has had command performances for England's Princess Margaret and Prince Andrew, starred in the London production of One Mo' Time and performed the title role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom at the Royal National Theatre. She was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in the long running London production of Blues In The Night.
Carol's successful movie and television career include the 2005 Paramount Pictures release of The Honeymooners, Woody Allen's Sweet and Lowdown, Eddie Murphy Raw, Night And The City, Stepping Out opposite Liza Minellie and Copland. Television roles include guest appearances on The Practice", Third Watch", Law & Order" and as a series regular on The Parent Hood".
Carol's nightclub and cabaret performances span the globe-from London to Tokyo, from Las Vegas to Honolulu. In New York, she has appeared at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, The Village Gate, B. Smith's, Rainbow and Stars, Michael's Pub and Town Hall.
