$39 Million Invested in Music Tech in August

It may the dog days of summer, but that didn't stop investors from taking time from their vacations to invest $39 million in music tech startups in August. Band Page by RootMusic and turntable.fm lead the pack, but the money flow didn't stop there. Here are the highlights of the $39 Million Invested In Music Tech In August, 2011:

BandPage by RootMusic raised $16 million in expansion financing.

Social music site Turntable.fm raised $7.5 million from Union Square Ventures.

Fanrank raised in $320,000 Angel funding to “Gamify Being A Fan" on Facebook.

Decibel has raised an undisclosed second round of funding from “investors with financial and media industry backgrounds," according a press release. The London-based company offers music metadata platforms for companies in the media industries.
