(For the third consecutive year HighNote/Savant Records was the most listened-to jazz label in the US, finishing 2006 with 14 titles on JazzWeek's Top-100 Chart, 10 in the Top-50. JazzWeek's year-end chart appears in the December 25, 2006 issue of the nation's leading jazz broadcasting trade publication.
Each year since 2004 HighNote/Savant, a Manhattan-based jazz record company founded and run by music industry veteran Joe Fields, has had the most titles on JazzWeek's year-end chart, having topped the JazzWeek Year-End Chart with 15 top-100 titles in 2005 and with nine in 2004. The eight HighNote and two Savant titles in the JazzWeek 2006 Top-50 alone represent 20% of the jazz airplay reported to JazzWeek in 2006.
JazzWeek's weekly chart ranks jazz recordings using daily airplay data compiled by MediaGuide's MusicMonitor system that tracks recordings broadcast 24/7 in the 100 major media markets in the US.
