Yuki Yamamura
Born in Inagi Tokyo and raised Fujisawa Kanagawa in Japan , he began playing electric bass in bands at the age of 15. He played energetically with his own group, and participated in the prefectural competition as a member of the Fujisawa Comprehensive High School Light Music Club, and in 2007 he participated in the finals of the Yokohama High School Music Festival in Yokohama Arena, won the Kanto Koshinetsu region in a competition sponsored by Yamaha in 2008, and appeared on the music program "Otomoe" on the Nippon Television Network.After entering university, he joined a big band club and began playing jazz and the contrabass. As a member of the Wako University Green Caterpillars Jazz Orchestra, he participated in the 42nd Yamano Big Band Jazz Contest in 2011.He has studied jazz playing under Susumu Fujita, a graduate of Berklee College in the United States, and classical playing under Minako Yoshida, a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts.He began his professional career while still a student, and after graduating, he performed at jazz clubs, bars, restaurants, music festivals, dance halls, parties, weddings, etc. mainly in Tokyo and Yokohama, before moving to the United States in 2018. He started his career in New York. He worked energetically with local musicians, but returned to Japan temporarily in 2020 due to the global pandemic. After resuming his activities in Japan, he returned to the United States in the summer of 2021. In 2024, he released his first leader album, "View of 124," with piano player Junichiro Mataga and drummer Yosuke Nagayama, all original songs.
