The Jazz Kings

Nicole Parker Brown and The Jazz Kings are an eclectic band that produces a blend of beautiful Jazz, Blues and Latin music that enlivens audiences. These inspiring artists all have an exceptional background in music production as performers and entertainers that create tunes that come straight from the heart. They are masters of improvisation and individually have provided a vast contribution to the music industry.

Biography     

The Jazz Kings have come to be recognized as one of the most sought-after jazz bands on the Gold Coast and beyond. They released their first CD ‘Out of Nowhere’ in December 2020, and this musical masterpiece has had airplay on both local, interstate and international radio stations. Formed in 2017, each member of this prolific band has decades of professional experience in all aspects of the music industry as performers, entertainers, recording artists, teachers, backing/support to local, national, and major stars, floorshows, and also in television, radio and media. Their second album, Blue Jazz, is due to be released January 2024 and already has had extensive interest from radio stations. This album will be a unique fusion of blues and jazz arrangements, combining popular standards with some outstanding originals.

 

They have performed at many festivals and venues in Australia including Jumpers and Jazz (Warwick, Qld), Tedder Ave Flower Festival (Gold Coast), Brisbane Jazz Club, Twin Towns (Coolangatta), and many other jazz clubs and venues throughout Queensland including corporate events at The Marriott, The Sheraton and The Royal Pines (Gold Coast).

Band Members

One of the most notable artists in the band is Peter Uppman who plays the trumpet, flugelhorn, is also an arranger, composer, and lead vocalist. Others include Gordon Matheson on guitar; Col Atkinson on bass and vocals; Rodney Ford on drums and vocals; and Jose McLaughlin (from the world-famous Gerry and the Pacemakers) on keyboards and vocals. Resident vocalist is Nicole Parker-Brown joined the Jazz Kings in 2018 and has been surrounded by music since she was born and has been singing Jazz and Blues most of her life.  This mix of talented artists brainstorms their creativity in a way in which they create a beautiful product through collective effort.
