A pillar of the Washington, D.C. music scene, Stanley Cooper is a master guitarist whose versatility, soulful tone, and technical brilliance have made him a sought-after performer, composer, and collaborator. With a career spanning decades, Cooper has carved out a reputation as a musician who can seamlessly move between jazz, gospel, R&B, and funk—bringing authenticity and heart to every note he plays. 

Stanley’s signature style blends intricate melodic phrasing with deep groove and impeccable timing, making his performances both emotionally resonant and technically impressive. Whether delivering a searing solo or laying down a subtle rhythm, his guitar work speaks volumes, always serving the song and elevating the ensemble.

Over the years, Cooper has shared the stage and studio with numerous national and regional artists , lending his talents to a wide range of projects. His leadership as a musical director and arranger has helped shape live shows and recordings with precision and creative flair, earning him widespread respect in the industry.  With a passion for mentorship and community, Stanley remains deeply rooted in D.C.'s vibrant music culture, continually inspiring new generations of artists through both performance and education.

Stanley Cooper’s Strum Funky is a bold fusion of Jazz, Funk & Soul.  On Strum Funky Stanley delivers a groove-laden sonic experience with his latest album, Strum Funky, released on February 21, 2025, via Dae Tyme Music. This 10-track collection showcases Cooper's signature blend of jazz, funk, and soul, highlighting his masterful guitar work and innovative compositions.

Strum Funky features collaborations with notable artists, including violinist Jerald Daemyon, saxophonist Kevin Levi, flautist Deblon Jackson, and guitarist Eddy Senay, among others. Tracks like "The Weekend," "Say What," and "Hot Thang" exemplify the album's dynamic range, from smooth grooves to high-energy funk.
