Sanyu Christine Nsubuga

The Oslo based singer and producer made a name for herself performing at numerous festivals such as Oya, Trondheim Calling and on several occasions at Copenhagen and Oslo's Jazz Festivals. Her debut EP "Now You Hear It" was described as "a testament to true artistry and dedication to the craft" by Beehype and chosen as their Norwegian Pick for "Best Albums of 2024". Still the EP only gives a taste of what one can expect to experience from her live concerts. The release of "Now You Hear It" was followed by a winter tour with concerts in Germany, Norway, Sweden and Denmark and she is currently working on her debut album which will be releasen in the spring of 2026.

With a background in r&b and improvisation, her music bears the stamp of a soulful expression with warm harmonies, but also plays around with rap and groove-based riffs. Her determined and exploratory soul interspersed with tactile spoken word and hammering jazz charges her listeners with energy, where her lyrics are at the core of what drives her performances. In March 2025 she was awarded the "lyspunkt" prize by the Norwegian Lyricist Fund for her lyrical works of the previous year.

On the stage she is joined by some of the most distinct sounding musicians from Norway's jazz and electronic music scene. Drummer, Rino Sivathas, multiinstrumentalist Kristina Fransson and double bass player, Joachim Mørch Meyer all display both composure and explosiveness through their interplay with each other.
