Sam JC Lee

Sam originally studied electronic engineering at Hanyang University in Korea, but later he was called to pursue music for his career. He obtained musical training on Jazz Composition and Performance at Berklee College of Music where he studied with the likes of John Lockwood, Steve Rochinski, Matt Garrison, Jetro da Silva, and Greg Hopkins, as well as his Jazz masters program at New York University where he has worked with Joe Lovano, John Scofield, Drew Gress, and Gil Goldstein. Since then, Sam has worked with many different artists in Jazz, R&B, Pop, and Gospel appearing on numerous CDs and concerts at notable venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, Blue Note, Scullers, Citi Field Stadium etc… Sam is currently a voting member for Grammy’s (The Recording Academy), and continues to be very active in New England and NYC music scene as a bassist, sound/recording engineer, and composer. Moreover, he currently serves Citylife Presbyterian Church in Boston, MA as the Director of Worship Arts, and teaches as an assistant professor at Harmony & Jazz Composition Department, Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA
