Gisele

Founded in 2012, Gisèle is halfway netween modern instrumental jazz and progressive rock. The first album, Roger, was released in December 2013. A few EPs followed, a Christmas and even a Halloween album were released before the second album, Aldo, was launched in 2016. With varied influences such as Chris Potter, Kneebody, King Crimson, The Thing, and more recently, numerous hip hop artists, Gisèle's tunes stand out with contrasting sections. The precise, odd-time overdriven guitar riffs are well-balanced with free improvisation sections. The saxophone can pull off tasteful solos imediately followed by apocalyptic screaming with effects.

In The Wall Street Journal this week, I interviewed supermodel Gisele Bundchen for my “House Call" column in the Mansion section on her childhood in Brazi (go here).
