Hailing from Venezuela, Orlando’s musical narrative is deeply enriched by a life filled with diverse experiences from around the globe. His music weaves a captivating tapestry that reflects his multicultural background, blending Latin American roots with jazz, classical and world music influences to create a harmonious fusion.
As a multifaceted and versatile composer and guitarist, Orlando invites listeners on an authentic voyage of discovery, exploring the profound beauty of cultural fusion and evoking emotional resonance with each composition.
Notably, Orlando’s musical prowess has also attracted invitations to perform for distinguished public figures, including President Michael D’ Higgins on three occasions, Conor McGregor, Wynton Marsalis, David Bisbal, and singer-composer Ruben Blades, underscoring the significance of his artistry on a global stage.
With an active career as a sideman, Orlando has achieved three international music scholarships and five Music Bursaries, including the Music Capital Scheme by Music Network (Ireland), further solidifying his position as a highly accomplished musician. His journey has led him to collaborate and tour with internationally acclaimed artists and Grammy Prize winners, including Gustavo Dudamel, Andreas Morricone, Ella Bric, Miguel Siso, Chino y Nacho, Phil Ware, Marie Séférian, David Pabón, Ronan Guilfoyle, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela, Oscarcito, Andy Duran, Simón Bolívar Big Band, among many others.
As a bandleader and sideman, some of Orlando’s tours include the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Spain, Ireland, Cuba, Egypt, The Netherlands and Venezuela. He has performed in acclaimed international music festivals and venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, The National Concert Hall, Teatro Teresa Carreño, Jazz al Parque, Electric Picnic, La Feria de Barquisimeto, Cork Jazz Festival, Festival de Jazz de Barquisimeto among many others.
