James Rosocha

Bassist James Rosocha holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He's toured the US and Europe as a long-time member of the BD Lenz group. Together they've released seven albums under the New York jazz label "Apria Records" and can heard on a number of television shows such as MTV, VH1, USA, A&E, Nickelodeon, Travel Network, Food Network, Spike TV, Comedy Central and a long host of others. A student of New Jersey's late jazz legend/ guitarist Harry Leahey and Steve Morse Band/Dixie Dregs bassist Dave LaRue, James has been fortunate to share the stage with trumpet legend Randy Brecker, guitarist Hiram Bullock, drummer Joel Rosenblatt, saxophonist Jay Beckenstein, pianist Jeremy Wall of Spyro Gyro and Phish leader Trey Anastasio. He appears alongside Trey in the new Phish Companion book, which documents the band's history and music. James endorses Spector Basses, Eden Electronics and Hipshot Detuners. ..."Note worthy too is Rosocha's extended solo on "Quiet Desperation," proving again that the electric bass in such hands claims a crucial and encompassing piece of musical turf."...Bob Gish Jazz Improv Magazine

..."Bassist Mark Egan plays beautifully , but don't miss Rosocha on "Cut and Paste"-smokin'!...John W. Patterson All About Jazz

...Only “Juxtaposition,” featuring compelling work by bassist James Rosocha and a wind-controller solo by Mattoon, and “Fi’Fo’,” anchored by keyboardist Dan Paul and drummer Tom Cottone, have any bite...Bill Meredith JazzTimes Magazine

...Even Steve Wonder, not to mention Stevie Ray Vaughn would hold this guy and his ultra hot band in awe (most especially featured bassist James Rosocha and Geoff Mattoon)...Bob Gish Jazz Inside Magazine
