Sergio Fulqueris

Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began studying with some of the more important musician from Argentina (Walter Malossetti, Ricardo Pellican, Armando Alonso, Mateo Crespi, Ismael Spitalnik, Juan Carlos Cirigliano and Ian Guest). In Spain, he graduated as Classical Guitar Professor of the “Conservatorio Ángel Árias Maceín”, and then he earned the title of Graduate in Jazz, at the “Conservatorio Superior de Navarra” (four years). He is teaching music for over twenty years. In Buenos Aires he worked in the “Academia de Música Ricardo Pellican” and in the “Escuela de Música Efimus”. He has given several courses of blues, jazz, tango, harmony and improvisation. Between 1997 and 2001. He has wrote, for more of five year, in one of the most important music magazines from Argentine, called “El Musiquero”. He has wrote three books (Ellisound Ed.); “Country Blues” (1997), the first one in spanish about this musical style, “Acoustic Blues Slide” (1999), and “Armonia Aplicada a la Guitarra (about Guitar Harmony), also in Spanish. As a professional musician he worked with many styles and groups. “Made in Argentina” (1995-1997); Gypsy swing guitar, with Ricardo Pellican (guitar). “The Acoustic Blues” (1994-2000); black folk music (blues, works songs, hollers, rags), two works published. These groups have played at the most important Festivals of Jazz and Blues of Latin-America. As a Tango player, he has participated in several works of artists of this style, La Chicana (1997), Marcela Bublik (2002), and singers like Cecilia Lopez Ruiz, Patricia Paz, Alicia Vignola and Jana Purita. Also, he produced and was director of several shows of Tango, "Tangos Canallas" (1999), "Tango Rubato" (2000) and "Contratango" (from 2004 to the present), with whom he toured several European countries (Luxemburg, France, Portugal and Switzerland). Since 2014 she works with actress, dancer and singer Silvia Luchetti for her shows «Bet on Love», 2015/16) and «Entre Dos Mares» (2017/18) touring venues and theaters throughout Spain and Argentina. Together with singer Marina Ferrer on vocals and Pablo Navarro on double bass, she introduces herself as “Jazz & Sentimental”, addressing jazz classics of all time, but with a personal touch. Together they also develop the show “La Copla y América”, a journey through Latin American music with the Spanish song as the protagonist. Sergio works as a session musician in Madrid, where he currently works as a professor at the "Escuela de Música Creativa". He also plays with various artists from jazz, blues, musicals, tango, bossa and others, in gigs, radio, tv, etc. In July 2019 he releases a new CD called «Jazz y Other Yerbas», recorded with Andrés Pellican on bass and Mariano Sanci on drums, and in which he develops all his compositional and interpretative profile, mixing jazz and other music, with his own compositions within a modern fusion. Currently on tour.
