About me

As an artist, I perform and compose jazz music that seamlessly integrates the influences of Scandinavian and American traditions.

My style of music is called Scandinavian Jazz. It brings together the peaceful, reflective aspects of the music from Sweden with the syncopated, swingin', and earthy qualities of American jazz, enriched by cinematic, classical, and Scandinavian folk music.

The key artistic values for me are to stir feelings of peace, happiness, and nostalgia in every listener. I focus on crafting music that is spiritually enriching, beautifully simple, and culturally

I embrace the fusion of different cultural elements in my music because it fosters a deeper connection between diverse traditions and creates a transcendent, eternal musical experience.

Since my teens, I have worked professionally as a musician, performing across various genres such as jazz, classical, and pop. My collaborations span a wide range of esteemed artists, including Bernt Rosengren, Tomas Franck, Anders Bergcrantz, John Ellis, Kleerup, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Joshua Redman, Billy Hart, Jennifer Brown, Claudia Campagnol, Manfred Mann, Robyn, Cameron Brown, Joe Dyson, Antonio Hart, Victor Lewis, Vivian Buczek, Pete Van Nostrand, Karl-Martin Almkvist, Jonas Kullhammar, Håkan Broström, Martin Sjöstedt and Max Schultz, among others.

Music has always been a sanctuary for me -a place of magic and exploration throughout the various stages of his life. I honed my craft at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm under the guidance of mentors like Ove Lundin, Jan Lundgren, and Hans Pålsson, and furthered his studies at The Abby Whiteside Foundation in New York with Sophia Rosoff, Barry Harris, Kenny Werner and Aaron Parks. Now an official teacher of the Abby Whiteside Foundation, I bring over 20 years of teaching experience to my students.

My recent compositions have embraced minimalism, interweaving cinematic elements with the nostalgic tones of Scandinavian folk music. My music, supported by grants from the Swedish Artists' Committee, continues to transport listeners to serene yet vibrant soundscapes, evoking feelings of peace, happiness, and nostalgia. Through this unique blend of influences, I invite you on a journey where tranquil landscapes give way to dynamic urban energy, creating an unforgettable musical experience.

”Pianist Felix Tani and drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts have known each other for a number of years. They obviously like each other's playing despite their differences. One is a gentleman of the piano and the other can propel a ship with his rhythmic energy”
