Lapis Luna

Lapis Luna brings you the captivating music of 1930s, 40s & 50s jazz with a classic yet one-of-a-kind sound. Their specialty is playing timeless melodies the way they were meant to be heard: vibrant, fun, romantic & cool.

The band is comprised of the brightest jazz musicians in NYC who set themselves apart with an authentic presentation of vintage jazz standards, tender ballads, and obscure swing era gems. Added into the sets are first-rate blues, cha-chas, rumbas & bossa nova:

Shawn Aileen Clark vocalist and bandleader John Merrill guitar Chris Pistorino bass Brian Floody drums, percussion

Lapis Luna’s influences vary from memorable vocalists of the golden age of song like Crosby, Armstrong & Holiday, to popular music stars Sinatra, Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole & Chet Baker. The heart of their music draws from the celebrated songbooks of Ellington, Porter, Jobim, the Gershwins, Hammerstein, Shaw & Goodman, while their style embraces all forms of music from the first half of the 20th century including hot jazz, early blues, dixie, big band, bebop, swing & Latin forms
