Kristina Ray

Kristina Ray, ex Rajgelj is a renowed traditional jazz singer. 
She has graduated with suma cum laude in 2014 from her diploma thesis of 'Jazz Identity and Chet Baker'. She has also studied Jazz on one of the prestigious Jazz conservatory in the Netherlands Codarts and at City College in New York City.  

In 2013 she has joined a traditional Berklee Jazz Clinics at Umbria Jazz in Perugia, Italy where she also performed at the end of the festival with her ensemble. She has loved working with singer educators such as Donna McElroy and Denis Montgomery III who are respected alumni at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In 2014 she has also worked with Jazz singing educator Bob Stoloff in Ferrara, Italy and as well studied with award winning guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel at Tuscia Jazz in Italy in 2013.

Throughout her years of study Kristina recorded and performed, being engaged in her own projects as well working and studying with great musicians such as legendary pianist and educator Barry Harris.

In 2015 she also had an opportunity to collaborate with the Metropole Orchestra in the Netherlands on the projects conducted by maestro Vince Mendoza and Jules Buckley.

In the Spring 2018 she was invited to collaborate and record on the music project of Pennsylvania based saxophone player Adam Price, along with featuring stellar musicians such as Jeff Hatcher, Isamu McGregor, Spencer Inch, Jack Synoski and Jon Bell. They have recorded in a legendary great Red Rock Recording studio with sound engineer Kent Heckman. 
Later in the same year, she has released her debut jazz album called , Desert Rose’ that was recorded with the same team and self released on all of the platforms. 

 Kristina has been performing jazz in Paris and Europe since 2019, with different groups.
In the fall of 2020 she started collaborating with the Big Band of RTV Slovenia – the national big band of Slovenia.
She chose the songs that were arranged especially for her.

 
In 2019 Kristina Ray recorded and released a wonderful composition ,Nice Work If You Can Get It' (G. Gershwin) that they recorded in Paris with stellar Parisian musicians. 
Since its release, the song has had more than half a million streams on the biggest music platform - Spotify.
Currently Kristina Ray is creating and residing in Paris France, and she cannot wait to also make concerts in United States.
