Julie Loveson

Julie Loveson was born in Oslo, Norway. At the age of 8 she had her debut on the piano in the University-Aula in Oslo. In Vienna she studied classical composition at the University of Music. During an one year educational stay at the University of Miami she studied jazz composition and jazz piano and finalized her jazz education with a jazzpiano diploma from the Franz Schubert Conservatory. 2006 she got the master of arts degree in composition. Besides scoring for film she is active as a keyboarder and producer. 2002/03 she worked as a pianist at the Burgtheatre Vienna in "The Women" by C. B. Luce. 2003/04 she toured with Ludwig Hirsch and his band and with her jazztrio. 2010 she wrote theatre music for the production "Das letzte Feuer" at Volkstheater Vienna. 2014 she released her album "Consider it solved" with Julie Loveson Septet

Awards

1996 composition grant from the city of Vienna, 1996 second prize for her waltz "I remember Vienna" for chamber orchestra, 2003 composition grant from Lower Austria. 2012 grant from the Norwegian jazzforum
