Ingrid Gerstmann is a jazz vocalist and composer in New York City. She made her New York debut in the Spring of 2015 at Smalls with the New York Jazz Workshop, and later performed with them again at Smalls and Club Bonafide. She has performed at Symphony Space with the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program. Gerstmann played her first New York solo show at The West End on January 24, 2016.

Along with gigs around the city, she has returned regularly to the West End to curate her own shows. Gerstmann performs her own arrangements and original compositions, and sings a mixture of jazz standards and songs chosen from all musical genres, many overlooked or forgotten. Gerstmann has played with John Austria, Donald Nicks, Taru Alexander, Keith Jordan, Bruce Cox, Ben Rosenblum, Russell Carter II, Jesse Crawford, Andrea Venezianni, Andrew Schiller and Tony Mapp. Gerstmann is from San Francisco, where she studied classical voice and completed the American Conservatory Theatre’s Professional Actor Training Program.

More recently, she’s been studying music theory at Columbia University, jazz improvisation at the New York Jazz Workshop, and vocal improvisation with jazz greats Fay Victor and Christine Correa. Still a relative newcomer on the NYC scene, Gerstmann enjoyed a successful acting career on the West Coast before hitting New York, and is thrilled to be out performing again.
