Giorgos Daskalakis

Born in Athens in 1970, started playing guitar at the age of 15. After having taken guitar lessons and played in several bands - rock, blues, funk, jazz, with emphasis on composing hisown material, he followed, in 1994, a classical harmony course at Sychrono Odeio, Athens with Michalis Travlos. After his diploma in 1996, he studied at the same school classical guitar with Iakovos Kolanian and graduated in 2001. In 2003 he moved to Holland and studied jazz guitar at DJam and in 2004 entered the HKU conservatory with main guitar teacher Eef Albers, where he graduated in 2008. He has taken lessons and participated in clinics with : Kai von Rosenberg, Kai Eckhardt, Jesse van Ruller, Marcus Miller, Richard Smith and others. From September 2008 until May 2009 he hosted a jazz session in Amsterdam while working on his own music which is being presented since September 2009 under the name Broken Fingers.

Teaching since 1992. Except for the private lessons,he has worked in several music schools in Greece and Holland. Since 2007 he is busy with writing his own method which includes different sections focused on theory and harmony, ear training, scales, chords, rhythm, phrasing, improvising etc
