David Andish
Born on October 18, 1984, in Lusaka, Zambia, David Andish grew up in a loving family of five. From a young age, he found solace and inspiration in music, a passion that would shape his life's trajectory. It was at Jacaranda Basic School where young David discovered his profound love and passion for music in the year 2000 at the age of 16. He embarked on his musical journey after joining Praise Christian Centre, where he would worship and serve God through music to this day. It was during this time that he picked up the guitar, igniting a spark that would fuel his musical career.
In 2003, David Andish ventured into music production and began performing at small gigs. Two years later, he joined his first band led by Pastor Jojo Mwangaza, where he thrived as a rhythm guitarist and sound technician. Following this experience, he headed to Ndola, Zambia, where he spent two years working as a music producer, honing his skills behind the console. Throughout his career, Andish collaborated with a wide array of talented musicians, leaving his unique mark on numerous records. From soulful artists like Hill St. Soul and El Mukuka to local Zambian stars such as Mag 44, Kiki, and Trinah, Pastor Gift Kaputula, Roberta, Mweshi Mulusa, Northmead Mega Choir, Mutamula Mwale, Prince Siame, Rachael, BJ Ngosa, Kings Malembe, Aaron Kaleshi Pastor Gain Hankope, Medoreen Besa, Musumadi, Kiki, Sakala Brothers, Suke Chile, Ras Willie among others. His exceptional guitar work added depth and soul to every track and he became an integral part of Zambia's music scene, contributing to the country's vibrant musical heritage.
David Andish embarked on a series of awe-inspiring tours, sharing the stage with renowned artists and sharing the stage with the likes of Oliver Mutukudzi, Earl Klugh, Uncle Rex, Maureen Lupo Lilanda, Brian McKnight, and Micasa, elevating his artistry while absorbing diverse musical influences. These experiences nurtured his passion for preserving African culture through music and arts.
The African Rhythms Met Jazz In 2016, as David Andish's talent was recognized when he received a nomination at the prestigious Zambia Music Awards, ultimately securing the coveted Best Guitarist award. This recognition affirmed his exceptional prowess and dedication to his craft. On October 9th, 2020, he accomplished another milestone with the release of his debut Afro Jazz album, 'Stories & Laughter.' The album seamlessly blended traditional African rhythms with the enchanting notes of jazz, captivating audiences with its rich tapestry of sounds. He released multiple singles and his latest EP was released in April 2023.
