Claes Brondal

Born in Denmark in the mid-70s and playing the drums since 1983. Studied with drumming greats such as Ed Thigpen, Dom Famularo and many others. Versatile in many styles of music - especially big band, funk, jazz, Afro/Cuban, Brazilian and 2nd Line.

Played in many constellations ranging from rock and jazz to Turkish, Latin and funk.

Professional credits includes recording sessions with musicians such as James Genus, David Sanchez and Randy Brecker. Latest CD is with jazz quartet LUMA who performed at Blue Note and Central Park Summer Stage 2007. Worked with the Ross School Jazz Ensemble and musical director Hal McKusick, taught for the Morriss Center Jazz Ensembles and as a mentor for the East End All Star Youth Jazz Ensemble.
