Jann Klose: Mosaic Fits Together Nicely

The release of Mosaic is another noteworthy accomplishment for singer/songwriter Jann Klose, who is experiencing a year of important moments. As a featured vocalist, covering the singing parts of the iconic Tim Buckley in the acclaimed film "Greetings From Tim Buckley", the German-born musician, who also spent time growing up in Kenya and South Africa, is a busy man. Playing shows and sharing the stage with musicians like Jeffrey Gaines and Annie Haslam, Klose is on tour to spread the word of his Mosaic. Based out of New York City for the past decade, Klose has a list of CDs and EPs under his belt and, with each new project, he raises the bar even higher.

Evading typical labels that can weigh like an albatross around a musician, Klose has a universal appeal and eclectic and loyal fan base. Mosaic is the perfect example of his diverse talents. Kicking off with "Make It Better," an upbeat and driving anthem that could easily become a war cry for timely topics, Klose belts, "You and I can make it better and help to cross that great divide." Another song that has a message and a call to action is "Know What's Right," sporting a retro feel and pop sensibilities with the heartfelt advice that implores the listener to take a side.

"On and On" is the perfect vehicle for Klose's falsetto, a romantic ballad that hits all the right notes. The haunting and sparse "Still" is another romantic song that is the perfect showcase for Klose's crisp vocals. "Long Goodbye" has a comfortable feel, heartfelt and direct. The slightly darker "Falling Tears" features the repeated phrase of "blood in the water" and shines a spotlight on Klose's diverse talents as a songwriter. "Beautiful One" features the beautiful vocals of Carrie Newcomer. Klose is joined by a group of musicians, many of with whom he has a history working, like keyboardist Lars Potteiger and his wife, violinist extraordinaire Leah Potteiger, as well as drummers Rob Mitzner and Patrick Carmichael. German guitarist Florian Opahle, who has played with Jethro Tull, is also on the CD, along with guitarist David Bendeth.

Mosaic is sure to be an instant favorite for fans who have come across Klose's formidable discography before and is the perfect introduction to a musician who is bound to cross the radar of many more in the coming months.
