More on the Apps and What's Next
We'd like to extend a big thank you to everyone who donated to All About Jazz over the past year. Your support helped cover the cost of the two free apps (learn how to add them here). If you've already added the apps, reach out and let me know what you think. We wanted to create a quick way to access AAJ and Jazz Near You from your phone while providing timely updates through push notifications and we're beyond pleased with the results. Since our apps are of the progressive web variety, they're only available through our website. Please help us spread the word by sharing them with friends, followers, groups, mailing lists, or forums. These apps offer a fresh, convenient way to experience All About Jazz and Jazz Near You, and we're committed to improving them as we go.
One of our senior beta testers installed both apps and shared a screenshot with us (right) to confirm a successful install. We couldn't help but notice his wallpaper and how breathtaking the AAJ app looks next to the Burger King app. ;-)
Next Up
We're currently testing a new batch upload feature to make it easier for venues to add multiple events at once on Jazz Near You. This will replace the old CSV upload feature. We figure by making event uploading easier, more venues will participate, and the more listings we can present at Jazz Near You, the more useful it becomes to all (i.e. venues get the word out for free and concertgoers have more events to view). If your favorite venue is not listing its events on Jazz Near You, contact them about it.Continue...
