French label F Communications has been responsible for a recent blitz of quality house-y releases on this, the arguably less discerning side of the pond. The Megasoft Office compilation showcases the label and their recent release. It is an aural experience likely to turn your office into a haven for daydreamers, making it great for creative types leashed to their computers but probably counter-productive for accountants and the like. Relaxing like a warm bath, Megasoft Office encourages your thoughts to drift away on its gentle lapping seas of electronic bliss, engineered by the likes of F Comm staples, Alexkid, Aqua Bassino, Llorca and others. There's the warm downtempo of Ambrosia's "A Reminiscent Drive", the haunting trip-hop of Alexkid's "Not Every Angel" and the understated elegance of Aqua Bassino's "Moon Light" to massage the mind. Frederic Galliano's "Batourou Dub" offers a tropical take on dub while Llorca and The Youngsters offer up some slinky, delicate house numbers. If you failed to purchase some of F Com's excellent full lengths throughout 2001, this album serves as a recap and should easily demonstrate why F Communications will be a label to watch throughout 2002.
