Luminol

Steven Wilson
Duration: 12:32
3,080 views

"Luminol," a live track from progressive rocker Steven Wilson's live DVD, Get All You Deserve (Kscope, 2012). Since the Porcupine Tree front man went solo, first with Insurgentes (Kscope, 2009) and then with the even more impressive Grace for Drowning (Kscope, 2011), he's brought back the philosophy of early progressive rock, where jazz and classically trained musicians come into the rock world for music that may not be either, but speaks the language of both. Wilson's live band includes saxophonist/flautist Theo Travis (Travis & Fripp, Soft Machine Legacy), keyboardist Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Wallace Roney), drummer Marco Minnemann (Alex Machacek, Adrian Belew), bassist Nick Beggs (Steve Hackett) and guitarist Niko Tsonev, and "Luminol" is Wilson's first track written specifically for this band.
