About the Album
“Wedding Song” is a tune from the new album Shifting by guitarist Rai Castells. The piece opens with a solo guitar introduction, setting an intimate and reflective atmosphere before giving way to the main theme performed by the quintet. Rooted in a contemporary jazz language, the composition unfolds with an open, lyrical character, allowing space for interaction, subtle tension, and collective development. Rather than following a fixed narrative, the music evolves organically, balancing written material with improvisation and emphasizing sound, texture, and interplay within the group.
