About the Album
Louise Van Aarsen (vocals), Doug Hammer (piano), Peter Kontrimas (bass), Claudio Ragazzi (guitar), Mike Turk (harmonica), and Jim Lattini (drums). A cancer researcher by day, in her spare time this Dutch-born, Boston-based songwriter writes fresh and meaningful songs with universal appeal, presented in an eclectic mix of jazz, Latin, classical, pop and fusion. With her producer, Boston’s leading jazz vocalist REBECCA PARRIS (featured on selected tracks) and a pristine band of jazz musicians, she has created a panorama of unique and memorable new tunes, that linger long after the music stops. "..Van Aarsen's voice is no-nonsense and very easy on the ear...The band is top notch... Thoughtful arrangements...Hyper-exact contemporary jazz production. We must wonder where she goes from here.." (C.Michael Bailey -ALL ABOUT JAZZ)
