About the Album
Snail kung-fu training song is a duo for guitar and congas built on tension, gesture and displacement.
Rather than settling into a fixed groove, the piece moves through shifting pulses, interruptions and elastic rhythmic figures. The congas do more than carry time: they shape the space, open it, disturb it, and drive the music forward from within. The guitar answers not with accompaniment, but with fragments, textures and lines that slip between impact and suspension.
What emerges is a music of friction and attention — physical, alert, and deliberately unstable.
There are traces of ritual pulse, of dance held back, of something almost ceremonial, but constantly redirected. The duo unfolds less as a theme and variation than as a field of forces: two voices listening, resisting, converging.
A training song, perhaps — but slow, concentrated, and slightly strange.
A music of precision without display, where each sound seems to test the balance between control and release.
