About the Album

Opening track to Indian drummer/composer Ranjit Barot's long overdue debut as a leader, Bada Boom, released November 16, 2010 on Abstract Logix Records. A fusion record in the truest sense of the word, where western jazz harmony meets Indian linear constructs, the track features - in addition to Barot on drums, vocals, konnakol and keyboard programming - guitarist John McLaughlin, bassist Matthew Garrison, keyboardist Harmeet Manseta, vocalist Punya Srinivas and The Nirvana String Section. Other guests on this exhilarating, multi-national release include saxophonist Tim Garland, pianist Gwilym Simcock, bassist Dominique Di Piazza, electric mandolinist U. Srinivias, and guitarist Wayne Krantz.
