Inspired by the TV character Willona Woods from the show Good Times, "Ooo Child" is the first single taken from Gemini Soul's new album Willona's Boutique. The album embodies Miles Davis' horn arrangements, Herbie Hancock's space-synth sounds, and Esperanza Spalding's cool bass grooves invoking a sexy, sultry, and sensual jazz sound. Willona's Boutique is the band's final album. It features nine tracks including the additional hit singles "The Watchers of the Watchers Are Being Watched," "Buffalo Butt," and "Dilemma." Additionally, the album features a non-themed title, the Meshell Ndegeocello song "Criterion" taken from her album Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape. Recorded with the two founding musicians Andre Ajamu Akinyele: bass, guitars, and keyboards; Jon O'Bergh: piano, Fender Rhodes, and keyboards; additional support by The Nu Jazz Horns: horns; Earl Jones: percussion; Dean "Stix" Jones: drums. Willona's Boutique was recorded for the fans. The album is Gemini Soul's way of giving back and saying thank you after all the years of support.
