"Octavia's Stories" is the opening track from the album "Neural Resonance: Tales from the OmniSphere by Jair-Rohm Parker Wells " The track is a bass-forward composition inspired by the writing of Octavia E. Butler, whose work has been a long-standing influence on my thinking about narrative, time, and transformation. The piece unfolds as a series of evolving textures and recurring motifs, allowing structure to emerge gradually through repetition, variation, and subtle shifts in density. Rather than illustrating a specific text, the music reflects the atmosphere of Butler’s storytelling: speculative, patient, and open-ended, with an emphasis on change as a generative force.
