About the Album
Mike joins saxophonist Charlie Mariano and bassist Dieter Ilg in a double-CD tribute to John Coltrane. Crescent was one of Charlie Mariano's last recordings before his death in 2009. On this 2-CD set, Mainieri not only covers the original compositions of John Coltrane, but also intertwines some of the noteworthy standards that Coltrane recorded during his career.
