About the Album

Composer and bassist Matt Owens is set to release Lacuna, the first single from his forthcoming album Keys, on 21st March. Inspired by a Manchester Jazz Festival commission to write a set of works featuring two pianists, Lacuna features Chilean pianist David Moñuz (Casa Latina All-Stars) and Manchester music legend John Ellis UK (Cinematic Orchestra, The Breath, Corinne Bailey Rae) on keyboards. Underpinned by Owens' bass they are joined by Kirsty Almeida 's ethereal vocals and Sam Draper's deft percussion colourings. The musicians' sensitive ensemble playing evokes a sense of space, reflecting the title and showcasing Owens’ elegant composing.
