About the Album
Different Directions is a collection of ten Jazz and Brazilian Jazz tunes, covering a wide range of styles (as the tittle suggests). Each track is exciting, unique, and sophisticated. Trio, quartets and quintets are featured with various instrumentations. The quintet shifts back and forth between a lyrical, yetdriving section and a pulsating and contagious Maracatu section. The track features: Sharel Cassity: alto, soprano, tenorsaxes, flute; Greg Gisbert: trumpet/flugelhorn; Miho Nobuzane: piano; Gary Mazzaroppi: bass; Mauricio de Souza: drums. Solos by Cassity, Gisbert, Nobuzane, and de Souza.
