About the Album

This is a voice bass drums trio version for Ellington's Just Squeeze me. The plan was to play this song straight ahead swing but in the last minute Harvie S suggested to try something else. We started recording without having any plan. The B part is played freely, I still can't believe how we all landed together for the last A (in the head out). This was the most fun and spontaneous studio experience I've had. (Tamuz Nissim) Raul da Gama: "Her rendition of Duke Ellington’s “Just Squeeze Me” in which she re-fits the sexy inner pulse of the song with a playful one that is equally alluring. Here Miss Nissim also performs a breathtaking glissando at the end of the song which highlights not only her multi-octave voice, but her ability to use it with theatrical effect." For her third album "Echo of a Heartbeat" Tamuz has concentrated on songs from the jazz repertoire, (adding some lyrics of her own to "Groovin High" and "Fried Bananas" as well as a vocalese on "Smile". Produced by Nissim and bassist Harvie S, the record is a journey through the heart as it experiences that crazylovely thing called love.
