About the Album
Multi-instrumentalist Caleb Wheeler Curtis shows why he’s one of the New York scene’s most beloved members with his searching and profoundly rewarding sixth recording, an examination of how music can be a source of both ritual and community. The opening track “Fantasmas” finds Curtis showcasing the stritch, the straight-bodied alto instrument that Curtis has long made part of his distinctive sound. The searching incantatory piece features fearless playing by Curtis, guitarist Emmanuel Michael, bassist Vicente Archer and drummer Michael Sarin.
